All requests for non-school sponsored travel shall be submitted on the prescribed form to the building principal no later than one week prior to the first day of absence. The form can be obtained in the school office (Policy 118, Regulation 118.1). The following regulations apply to all non-school sponsored travel:
- There is a five-day limit to non-school sponsored travel per school year.
- Non-school sponsored travel will NOT be approved as an excused absence during the following time periods:
- The first two weeks at the start of the school year
- The last two weeks at the end of the school year
- During standardized testing dates (PSSA, TERRA NOVA, etc.) as noted on school calendar
- Teachers are NOT required to assign class work in advance for non-school sponsored travel.
- Students are required to make up all work within five days of return from non-school sponsored travel.
